2:30 | PLAYOFF MVP
Gabe Sutherland of the Aberdeen Hornets is the Playoff MVP. Gabe scored 5 times and added one helper in the semi-final game as Aberdeen defeated the Saskatoon Titans by a score of 8-4. Gabe followed up this stellar performance with another 2 goals and 2 assists in helping the Hornets capture the Senior Men's Field League Championship. Gabe will now be attending the Canadian Junior Men's Field National Team Final try-out this upcoming Thanksgiving weekend in B.C.
WEEK 2 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Steve Michaluk of Sturgis 9-1-1 is the Week 2 Player of the Week. Steve played like he was ten years younger in finding his form and lighting up the opposition on his hometown field. Steve scored 6 goals and added two assists in an opening 14-6 victory over the Hornets. He then finished the day with another 3 goals and 4 assists in leading 9-1-1 to a convincing victory over the Saskatoon Titans 11-5.
WEEK 1 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Owen Carlson of Sturgis 9-1-1 is the first Player of the Week for the Senior Men's Field League. Carlson's strong midfield play helped lead the Sturgis 9-1-1 team to an undefeated first weekend of play. Carlson scored two goals on the day in playing excellent midfield defense and helping get the ball to the potent 9-1-1 attack consisting of Mike Paul, Steve Michaluk and Kyle Bazansky.

PRE-SEASON RANKINGS:
1. STURGIS 911
No one really knows who will show up for 9-1-1 as these guys seem to come out of the bush or off the combine to play lacrosse when the troops are rallied but never discount the Sturgis 911 lacrosse program from showing up when it really matters. Expect this team to have a slow start to the season with a limited roster the first week while the team gets organized then a big showing on their home field the following weekend as they prepare for playoffs!
2. ABERDEEN HORNETS
The Aberdeen Hornets have been the most organised team in preparation for the league with rumours of an intense workout and practise schedule over the past few weeks. No one knows how many of these practises ended up turning into long nights at a local watering hole but expect the Hornets to be the first weekend favourite while playing on their home field.
3. SASKATOON TITANS
The Saskatoon Titans will be an interesting team to watch. Will these guys be ready and committed to playing lacrosse or will they be tired from the fesitivities from the night before? If these guys come out to play then watch out as they will most certainly be the youngest team in the league. The implementation of a team curfew could be the difference. Will youth beat experience? Only time will tell!
GOOD LUCK TO ALL PLAYERS IN THE INAUGURAL SEASON!
MOST IMPORTANTLY, RESPECT THE GAME, RESPECT YOUR OPPONENT AND RESPECT THE REFEREES!
