TEAM SASK COACHING POSITION
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
- All Team Sask Coaches need to have the appropriate steps completed for their Competitive Introduction Certification. What steps are required will depend on what year the Coach is in for their Coaching Pathway in obtaining their Certification. The SLA office will be able to confirm what Coaches need to properly certified.
- All Team Sask Coaches are required to pass a Criminal Record Check that includes a vulnerable sector check.
- All Coaches in Saskatchewan are required to have their Respect in Sport certification
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES
HEAD COACH
- Attend all Team Sask evaluations.
- Work with evaluators and other Coaches to select the Team Sask roster.
- If roster doesn’t meet the minimum guidelines of having four or more clubs represented a report on why needs to be submitted to the SLA VP of Operations.
- Attend all team events and Nationals with the Team
- Responsible for curfew and team rules, infractions, appeals, and protests.
- In charge of training session and technical aspects of the competition.
- Pass out technical information to the rest of the staff.
- Discuss strategy and performance with fellow Coaches.
- In charge of submitting a written report on individual and team results.
- Must follow Saskatchewan Lacrosse Code of Conduct at all times.
- Work positively and cooperatively with Team Manager
Assistant Coach
- Assist Head Coach in any way possible
- Assist in team selection
- Help as a liaison between Head Coach and players.
